A Production Assistant, also known as PA, performs various supportive tasks on the set or the office of film and television productions. This is an entry level position and an excellent way to get to know all the various departments of a film set. If you are interested in working in the film and television industry this boot camp is the right start for you.

The PA Boot Camp is a job training programme designed by Los Angeles-based company PA Bootcamp (www.pabootcamp.com). It is a two-day intensive workshop preparing you thoroughly and completely for the job of a Set and Office Production Assistant. You will learn everything there is to know about a PA and will be able to work right away once completing the programme.

No previous knowledge or experience is required. What is required is knowledge of English, a good work ethic,commitment, etiquette and willingness to learn. All applicants are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

  1. The P.A. Boot camp is a narrowly focused training for the job of Set and Office P.A.  
  2. There are two training sessions:
    Boot Camp A.
    May 5th-6th
    Boot Camp B.
    May 7th-8th
    A maximum of 25 spaces per Boot Camp are available. The workshop runs from 09:00 to 17:00 each day and catering will be provided. 
  3. The Boot camp will be in English only. You must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
  4. The P.A. Boot camp is open to all ages from 18 years old.
  5. The P.A. Boot camp is fully inclusive and open to all race, gender, class, religion and ethnicities.  
  6. You must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of recovery in order to attend. 
  7. Please keep in mind that the training will not take place on a film set, and you will not be handling  equipment. Also keep in mind that, for most of the time, you will be seated, listening, and doing activities as instructed. On Day 2 you will be outside having radio/walkie-talkie training.
  8. You will be ready to work as a PA immediately after the workshop. This course is not suitable for full time film students or for people who are not available to work right away. 
  1. What is your work status? Please consider that film production set work is freelance, not guaranteed.
  2. Are you prepared to take an entry level job? Please keep in mind that set P.A. is an entry level job.  You must be OK with doing technical, sometimes menial tasks as instructed. 
  3. Can you stand on your feet for long hours?  Set P.A. work requires standing on your feet for long periods of time.  (There is no sitting on set). You would be advised not to take this training unless you are physically able to do that. 
  4. As a Set P.A. you will have access to all crew departments and you can move in the direction of a department you are interested in. Keep in mind though, that working on set should not be seen as just an opportunity to meet actors, writers, directors, and producers to advance your career.
