The National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication – EKOME, announces the implementation of a 30% tax relief incentive, as part of the national scheme to further promote Greece as an attractive and safe destination for audiovisual projects.
The incentive, implemented through EKOME, operates under the provisions of Joint Ministerial Decision 31548/2020 and of Article 71E of Law 4172/2013 as amended by the provisions of Article 12 of Law 4704/2020, in accordance with the recent interpretative circular issued by the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (AADE). Its objective is to provide a discount upon the taxable revenues of investors wishing to finance audiovisual productions in Greece.
It may also be noted that the 30% tax relief incentive can be combined with the 40% cash rebate scheme, through which more than 100 domestic and international audiovisual projects have been financed since 2018, with over EUR 92 million invested funds in Greece and approximately EUR 30 million returned to beneficiaries in Greece and abroad.
Information on beneficiaries, eligible expenses and the application submission procedure can be found on EKOME’s website in the following link: https://www.ekome.media/audiovisual-production-invest/tax-relief/
