New Professional Film and TV Seminars from Oxbelly

The program is aimed at professionals who want to expand their skills, as well as those interested in entering the film and television industry.

Oxbelly organizes in collaboration with the National Film and Television School of England (NFTS) a series of Professional Film & Television Seminars, specially designed to meet current needs in the audiovisual production industry in Greece.

The economic incentives to attract foreign producers, the natural and historical environment of Greece and the professionalism of the Greek crews have made our country one of the most attractive destinations in the world for film and television productions.

Oxbelly continues the seminar program in collaboration with one of the most renowned professional schools in the field, with the aim of contributing to the further strengthening of the Greek audiovisual production industry.

The program is aimed at professionals who want to expand their skills, as well as those interested in entering the film and television industry.

In November and December 2022, the program will offer 6 online and 2 live seminars, delivered by NFTS faculty.

  • Introduction to Post Production Supervision

3-day intensive webinar • November 9-11, 2022 15 participants
The subject of the seminar is the introduction to the analysis and examination of issues of proper planning (scheduling) and organization of the post production workflow. The seminar is delivered by Gemma Nicholson.

10-day intensive life course • November 21 – December 2, 2022

12 participants • Venue: Serafion of the Municipality of Athens
The object of the seminar is first to learn and practice the Meisner technique and then to apply what they have learned through specially designed exercises in front of the camera and on stage. The seminar is delivered by Robyn Paterson.

The purpose of the tutorial is for the screenwriter to learn how to approach a script rewrite, to do a screenplay analysis in a color-coded spreadsheet, how to interpret the spreadsheet to plan their rewrite, to learn the four key questions every screenwriter he must be able to answer about his script and how to decide, objectively, how extensive the new version of the script should be. The seminar is delivered by Clive Frayne.

  • Script Reading and Reporting

3-Day Intensive Webinar • November 28 – December 2, 2022

15 participants (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, with supervised work from home on Tuesday and Thursday)
The purpose of the course is to teach the fundamental skills needed to create professional script notes. By the end of the course, participants will feel confident in their ability to read through a script, create notes to the standards required by the industry, and help shape the script development process for both short and feature films. The seminar is delivered by Clive Frayne.

2-day intensive, webinar • December 7-8, 2022

15 participants
The seminar is aimed at Production Managers / Line Producers who are ready to make the transition to the role of HoP and want to consolidate the necessary knowledge and familiarize themselves with the new responsibilities. The seminar is taught by Maddy Allen.

20-day seminar, live and online • November 14 – December 9, 2022

15 participants • Venue: Serafion of the Municipality of Athens
The object of the seminar is the detailed and complete knowledge of the duties of a Location Manager. The course is aimed at Assistant Location Managers who want to progress to Location Managers. The seminar is delivered by Lloret MacKenna Dunn.

3-day intensive, webinar • December 14-16, 2022

15 participants
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize participants with diaries, clearances, cast agreements, wrap reports and other necessary steps for the proper planning and coordination of a production. The seminar is delivered by Carolina Grisorio.

1-day intensive, webinar • November 15, 2022

12 participants
Intended for those who wish to learn how to use Movie Magic Budgeting to its full potential. The seminar is delivered by Dewi Griffiths

To participate in the seminars experience in film or television productions is desirable, although not essential. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and have a good command of English, as all courses will be conducted in English.
